Questions worth asking

What is GEO, and how is it different from SEO?
GEO — generative engine optimisation — is the work of getting your content quoted inside AI-generated answers rather than listed in a results page. It overlaps heavily with good SEO, but the ranking signals differ: answer engines favour clearly-structured, directly-quotable statements with visible sourcing, where classic SEO also rewards links and depth. Both matter; they are not the same job.
Why does Bing suddenly matter?
Because ChatGPT's browsing and Microsoft Copilot both draw on Bing's index. A site invisible to Bing is invisible to a meaningful share of AI answers regardless of how it performs in Google. Bing indexation is cheap to fix and almost universally neglected.
Can you guarantee we'll be cited by ChatGPT?
No. Nobody can, and the honest framing is that this work raises the probability rather than buying a placement. What is guaranteed is a recorded baseline of what the engines say about your category today, so the change is measurable instead of anecdotal.
Is SEO still worth doing if AI answers are taking the clicks?
Yes, because the two feed each other. The pages that get cited in AI answers are overwhelmingly pages that already rank, carry clean structured data, and answer a question directly. The work that earns a citation is the work that earns a ranking — the difference is in how the page is written and marked up, not whether the fundamentals matter.
